My Festive Fanfare (2020), true to its name, is a short fanfare for brass and percussion that is joyful and boisterous. Based on material draw from the first movement – Entrance (fanfare) – of my Symphony Amadeo (2020-21) for symphonic wind band, it summarizes the celebratory mood of that initial movement of the 50-minute-long symphony. However, while in the symphony this material is treated in the grand symphonic manner, here in the fanfare the canvas is smaller and thus the scope limited, albeit the joyfulness and exuberance remain the same.
